Recuperación funcional - pliométrica en distensión grado II del ligamento colateral medial: Revisión bibliográfica

La distensión grado II del ligamento colateral medial (LCM) de la rodilla representa una lesión asociada a actividades deportivas y de alta demanda física, cuya recuperación requiere procesos de rehabilitación progresivos y estructurados. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la evidencia científica disponible sobre el entrenamiento pliométrico como estrategia complementaria en la recuperación funcional de la distensión grado II del LCM. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica documental con enfoque cualitativo y carácter retrospectivo, mediante la búsqueda de literatura científica en las bases de datos Scielo, Scopus, PubMed, Medline, Embase, PEDro y Lilacs. Los estudios seleccionados fueron analizados considerando investigaciones relacionadas con rehabilitación del LCM, entrenamiento pliométrico y recuperación funcional, además de la evaluación de la calidad metodológica mediante la escala PEDro. Los resultados evidenciaron que la incorporación progresiva de ejercicios pliométricos se relacionó con mejoras en fuerza muscular, estabilidad dinámica, control neuromuscular, capacidad de salto y rendimiento funcional del miembro inferior. Asimismo, se identificó que la pliometría debe integrarse dentro de programas estructurados de rehabilitación como complemento de estrategias convencionales, incluyendo fortalecimiento muscular, movilidad articular y entrenamiento propioceptivo. Se concluye que el entrenamiento pliométrico presenta potencial como estrategia complementaria para la recuperación funcional del LCM; sin embargo, su aplicación requiere planificación progresiva, individualización y supervisión clínica, siendo necesario ampliar la evidencia específica en pacientes con distensión grado II del LCM.
