Ejercicios de Core en la calidad de vida de los pacientes con ostomía

La ostomía constituye una intervención quirúrgica que, además de modificar la función intestinal, puede generar repercusiones físicas, psicológicas y sociales que afectan la calidad de vida de las personas con ostomía, por lo que resulta necesario evaluar estrategias de rehabilitación seguras y basadas en evidencia. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar el efecto de un programa de ejercicios de Core sobre la calidad de vida de personas ostomizadas. Se desarrolló una investigación cuantitativa, aplicada y de campo, con diseño preexperimental de un solo grupo con medición pretest y postest. La muestra inicial estuvo conformada por 18 participantes con ostomía, de los cuales 13 completaron un programa de teleentrenamiento de 12 semanas supervisado. La calidad de vida se evaluó mediante el cuestionario Stoma-QoL y los datos fueron analizados mediante estadística descriptiva, prueba de Shapiro-Wilk, prueba t de Student para muestras relacionadas y análisis por ítem con corrección por comparaciones múltiples. Los resultados mostraron una ligera disminución del puntaje global del Stoma-QoL, evidenciando una tendencia favorable; sin embargo, las diferencias entre pretest y postest no alcanzaron significancia estadística y el tamaño del efecto fue pequeño. El análisis por ítem identificó cambios favorables en aspectos relacionados con la percepción corporal, la vestimenta y la funcionalidad social, aunque sin significancia estadística tras el ajuste múltiple. Se concluye que el programa no produjo cambios estadísticamente significativos en la calidad de vida global, pero mostró potencial como estrategia complementaria de rehabilitación, requiriendo futuras investigaciones con muestras mayores y diseños controlados.
