Resumen

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar las variables más relevantes que explican la brecha salarial de género en Bolivia, utilizando la Encuesta de Hogares 2024. Se partió de la premisa de que, a pesar de los avances en educación y participación laboral femenina, persisten desigualdades estructurales que afectan los ingresos de las mujeres en comparación con los hombres. Se analizaron factores como el nivel educativo, la experiencia laboral, la segregación ocupacional, la penalización por maternidad y otras variables socioeconómicas que influyen en la determinación de los salarios. La investigación adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo, aplicando la descomposición de Oaxaca-Blinder y el modelo de regresión cuantílica, lo que permitió evaluar la contribución de las características observables y no observables a la brecha salarial. Los resultados evidenciaron que la brecha responde tanto a factores estructurales como a elementos discriminatorios, subrayando la necesidad de políticas públicas que reduzcan las desigualdades, promuevan la equidad laboral y garanticen igualdad de oportunidades entre hombres y mujeres.
