Aplicación de Lean Manufacturing en el sector sanitario. Un análisis bibliométrico

Resumen

La presente investigación ejecuta un ejercicio bibliométrico de la literatura respecto a Lean Manufacturing aplicada en el sector sanitario. Para ello, se emplea el método de la revisión sistemática centrada en cinco pasos propuesta por Denyer y Tranfield (2009), que consiste en identificar y formular la pregunta de investigación, localizar la literatura, criterios de selección y evaluación de los estudios, analizar y sintetizar la información, presentación y reporte de los resultados de la investigación en una línea de tiempo de estudio no mayor a 10 años. Se contemplaron bases de datos como PubMed para artículos científicos, y Google Scholar para libros, se empleó esta base de datos porque la investigación se constituye como pionera en el estudio del fenómeno y por tanto, el libre acceso a información por medio de ambas bases de datos garantizó el acceso, desarrollo y análisis de la producción científica. Los resultados del análisis bibliométrico establecieron un total de 298 artículos en PubMed y 46 libros en Google Scholar, analizados en función de tres criterios: cantidad de artículos y libros publicados por año, país de origen y tipo de documento. Se mostró una tendencia de crecimiento en las investigaciones sobre Lean Manufacturing ubicadas en Estados Unidos, Canadá y Reino Unido. Por otra parte, la investigación reveló que la Lean manufacturing no se limita únicamente al sector industrial, pues se identificaron investigaciones en el área de salud.
